TVDinner

TVDinner - Streaming MP3 Server

code and design by Sean Keplinger

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is it called TVDinner?

When Rosie first "commissioned" the project, that's what the code-name was and it stuck. There's no changing it now because it's been TVDinner for way too long.

What does TVDinner do?

Basically, it organizes your MP3 collection, indexes it in a database for easy reference and then provides a web interface so that you can stream music anywhere there's a decent network connection.

What operating systems does TVDinner work on?

So far, it's been tested on OpenBSD and Red Hat Linux, although I'm sure that it will run on any *nix flavor. I'm not sure that it would work with Windows -- try it and let me know.

What are the minimum system specs?

I've had this setup running on a Pentium 133 w/32MB of RAM. You're going to need a lot of HD space -- I recommend 10+ gigs.

I'm having problems getting Apache/Mason installed...

I can provide limited help, but I'm pretty damn busy with everything else. Read their FAQs, Manuals, check their mailing lists, etc.

I'm getting a Mason error when I try to do...

Please copy the text and send it to me so that I can fix it. Thanks!
