June 24, 2001

We took a trip to the homesite to see what (if any) work had been completed. (Mental note: do not let 2-year-old into house until walls and doors are installed.) This time, I tried to take better stills with my video camera so that I could easily transfer them to the website.

front of the house

The roof is on, the facing boards are installed, the wiring is ready -- next step: vinyl siding.

front of the house

3/4 view -- you can see how the garage is set away from the rest of the house.

back of the house

Looking up at the back bedroom's windows that face the woods.

back of the house

A deck will be built on this corner of the house just off the sliding glass door that leads to the morning room.

back of the house

All of the morning room windows have been installed and the roof is complete.

back of the house

On this side of the house is the master bedroom and the dining room windows.

foyer

Standing next to the front door in the foyer, you can see the morning room windows in the back and the stairs.

foyer

Another shot of the foyer from a different angle (inside the living room.)

living room

The front living room with insulation installed.

family room

A shot of the family room from the kitchen -- you can see the morning room off to the right.

kitchen

Standing in the far corner of the family room, the kitchen and the morning room seem distant.

kitchen

Another view of the kitchen from the left-side of the family room.

morning room

Here, you can see the low counter that separates kitchen and the morning room.

morning room

A view from the back corner of the morning room of the woods behind the house.

upstairs

Standing in the foyer looking upstairs...

Standing upstairs looking into the foyer...

master bedroom

A shot of of the master bedroom.

walk-in closet

Here's the master bedroom's walk-in closet. I thought it was kinda funny that they put a heat duct in the closet.

master bath

The master bath will have two basin sinks when it's finished.

spare bedroom

This is the smallest bedroom and will more than likely be turned into a spare room.

second bathroom

Standing in the hallway looking into the second (and smaller) bathroom.

front bedroom

The front bedroom standing in the hallway. The outside pane of the left window is shattered and will need to be replaced.

back bedroom

The back bedroom from the hallway with it's two windows that face the woods. I just love that corner!

garage

Here's a shot of the garage from the foyer -- there are two windows on the right.

garage

This stack of boxes contain all of the vinyl siding which (hopefully) will be install soon.

basement steps

From the kitchen, the basement steps lead down into the dark abyss. Actually, it's no longer filled with water so it doesn't look like a cave.

basement

Standing at the base of the steps, you can see thata there is much poteniall here for an entertainment room.

basement

This corner of the basement will more than likely be my office because it already has most of the walls completed.

basement

The washer and dryer hookups are on their own stud-wall. I'm not sure whether or not they'll install drywall.

basement

This shot was taken from the far back corner of the basement (next to the washer and dryer hookups) so that you can see the space.

network cabling

This bundle of wires is distributed to each of the four bedrooms. Each room has two CAT5e cables -- one for phone and one for network. My friends and I installed this ourselves to avoid the huge bill that the electrition would have dumped on me.

network cabling

This conduit runs from the attic to the basement and made it simple to install all of the network cabling. In the future, I hope to run cable (RG6) to one of the other bedrooms.
