In short: I'm a hiker, a programmer, a tinkerer, a mad scientist, an online gamer, and above all a father and a husband. I like to listen to techno (specifically "goa"), Depeche Mode, Erasure, New Order, Cake, They Might Be Giants, and countless others. I'm old enough to remember when MTV actually played music videos, when arcade games only cost a quarter, and the Atari 800xl. You can probably learn more by reading my blog, stalking my Usenet posts, or by simply sending me an email. about this website: More than anything, this website is a chance for me to learn and excercise web-programming skills. The site is built using Apache (mod_perl) and a nifty templating / embedding tool called HTML::Mason. If you're unfamiliar with the term "blog", it's short for "weblog". Blogs take many forms from link filters to personal diaries; In this case, it's an easy way to display topical articles. Curious about the engine behind it all? It's a home-grown database driven content management system with a modest interface. It also has a "beta" keyword search feature so that I can easily mark keywords in text using specialized tags. I add more to it when I get the time and it's always evolving towards...well...towards something. Enjoy the site -- I hope you find something useful here! |
